Professor Escargot. The bronze statue 168 cm tall (5 foot 6).

David has chosen bronze for it's strength, durability and beauty. The process used in its construction ensures the very best detail, and results in a very lifelike addition to your home or garden.

The inspiration for David's work stretches back to a childhood fascination with myths and folklore, and a love of the writings of Tolkein.

All the pieces are cast in bronze, using the 'lost wax' process, a method developed by the ancient Egyptians. A new ceramic shell mould is both made and destroyed for each individual piece cast. This is one of the most costly methods of casting but it ensures the detail of the original work is preserved in every successive casting.

Note: If a bronze is outside it will lose its shine and go green if not treated. I recommend waxing about once a month with furniture wax and a brush followed by a polish with a cloth. This should keep your bronze in top condition.

Note 2: Stocks are generally good for most items and so delivery can be within a few days. However on the rare occasion a new one will need to be made and this can take around 3 months. We will contact you asap if there is a problem and see if you are ok to wait.
